Kindergarten to Grade 3 Lesson Plans

For Kindergarten to Grade 3, there are interactive in-class activities as well as opportunities to teach outdoors by doing things like taking a neighbourhood walk. The focus for this age group is around safety as a pedestrian, a new cyclist and a bus passenger. Some of the items you’ll find in the lesson plans are: bus safety rules, a bingo game to learn about traffic signs and signals and a cauliflower demo to show why it’s important to wear a helmet. The lesson plans also include sample achievement charts or rubrics to make it easy to evaluate their learning.

If you are looking for more information on any of the topics covered for other classes in your school or in the community, take a look at the Community Engagement Kits.
